After restricting for one week, I didn’t have the discipline to keep calories below 2300 and maintain exercise, so last night, I ordered Sensa from the ShopNBC featuring Barbara and Dayna Devon, from Extra. I called in, and expressed my concern a month’s supply wouldn’t last the entire month, considering I weigh over 200 lbs and ate 3000 calories for the day – I said so on TV! Barbara and Dayna were very nice. Dayna interrupted me to say the instructions again. It was specified, “don’t share your order of Sensa” because it is enough for only one person. On the phone prior, Dave assured there had been no order increases by customers up to now, so a month’s supply should last.
It’s not a recommendation from me at this time. Let me be the guinea pig; let me try Sensa! Something rang true about the science. There are reviews which paint Sensa as a scam, and many reviews by disappointed customers. Since my goal is lose 70 lbs, I will try it for 3 months. Even if there are no results the first two months or so, I will persist. It takes time for supplements to get into your system. Vitamins taken regularly can take 60 days to get into your system. Instead of count Sensa out after two weeks or a month if there are no results, I’ll try it for a bit longer!
If something can work for me and is this easy, I will tell my sister, who is heavier than I am. For that matter, my brother is also desiring to lose 80 lbs or so. That makes trying Sensa a mission. View the animation here:
Hi, the Week’s Average is 2352 calories. Today was 2231; yesterday 2283, so I was back to goal, but the two high days threw off the average lots. Tomorrow I weigh.
Some foods or meals I overestimate, some I underestimate, though I go by the packaging and weigh everything on a kitchen scale to make sure . . .
I must say, when I first made the change about 9 months ago I was not sure at all what I would eat. You have to take it slow. I started with alot of potatoes and homemade soups. They are easy and you can fill up on them. Soon I was eating alot of fresh salads, I tried lots of different dressings but have found that Oil and vinegar really work the best and are a DELICIOUS combo. I use Braggs apple cider vinegar and organic virgin olive oil, romaine lettuce, cucumbers, tomatos, purple onions, cauliflower, raw turnips, avocados nuts and seeds… mmm mmmm
My greatest discovery was the Farmers market. I bet you can find one somewhere in your area. I do all of my shopping there now and feel great about it. It is a real community there. People are usually very glad to share recipes and food preparation ideas. I made a declaration to try something new each week. Google helps a lot when it comes to finding recipes for veggies that seem a bit alien for most consumers.
Anyway, good luck. Take it slow your body will adjust and stop craving all of the bad foods. Truly. I would suggest though that you avoid all of the soy foods and stuff. All of the fake hamburgers and ice creams are just like the meat containing foods, full of chemicals and preservatives. They are not healthy. Stick to food with the dirt still on it. Just wash it off before eating. : 0)

But it could have been worse! I refrained from gobbling a Nutrisystem Snack when I was in Big Lots today – the herb crunchy snacks, picking up marked-down Nutrisystem.
Today feels like too much sodium. Now for exercise – then be feeling much better!
Hi, Felt like posting, because the first 3 days I was going strong, and the calorie average was well below 2300. Today, only just now, 7PM, I totaled what I ate, after journaling at Calorie-Count.com, and it totals 2700! That’s okay. The average for four days is now: 2366 – will just have to pick myself back up!
Time to take the cat for a walk. Yes, she walks like a dog; that is; she wants to walk every day on her invisible leash; me go a few steps, then she follows. Like a dog, she pesters me about it, even though she is free to come and go. Then when I say, “It’s time,” she gets excited, the first out the door.
It’s 11:30AM, and I’m up to 1613 calories, so it’s time to taper off for the rest of the day. There is allowance for an NS dinner, desset, and fruit . . .
Slept great! Yesterday, I quit eating at 3PM. Likely it’s the same story today; exercise; wait until afternoon for main meal, then quit eating, then sleep great again! It’s agreeing with me.
It’s almost 3PM, and I determined, at 2288 calories – made goal – yay!
Maybe you’re shocked I could say, “made goal” at nearly 2300 calories. It’s an improvement over day after day at nearly 3000 calories. I’m not setting myself up for failure; I’m going for realistic – sue me!
Actually, goal is 2200 calories, to not exceed 2300, so as long as I’m under 2300, it’s all good.
It’s exciting to start Nutrisystem again, and get in that routine. I opened the box, and the packaged dinners were in disarray. The box must have been slammed a bit in transit. It’s beautiful packaging with pics of the meals on the cover that build appetite:I like packaged foods. I like convenience. I like feeling that opening a wrapper is going to reveal a treat! It makes dieting more pleasure than punishment.
The reason I’m going the mens’ plan path is because I don’t believe in restricting or in deprivation! Check: Naturally-Thin.com , a site authored by a nurse, Jean Antonello, RN, BSN, who wrote the famous, out-of-print books: How to Become Naturally Thin by Eating More and Breaking Out of Food Jail.
Since I can’t ask the Nutrisystem ladies to support me, I’ll blog here for accountability.
